FAQ Shortcut Links

Is this group only for women?

Yes. We welcome anyone identifying as a woman, in keeping with AA group autonomy and our Group Conscience.

What if I’m not sure I’m an alcoholic?

That’s okay. Many of us weren’t sure at first either. If you have a desire to stop drinking, you are welcome. Consider reading more of this website, reaching out, or listening in a meeting.

Is this confidential?

Respect to anonymity is a guiding principle in GLAAM. What you see here, what you hear here, what you say here… is meant to stay here, inside the “walls” of the rooms.

Do I have to turn my camera on?

Per our group conscience, we ask you share your face on camera to be verified by our security team, even if briefly. You can then turn it off as desired and are always welcome to just listen.

Do I have to talk?

No. Listening is participation. And you can always say, “pass.”

Is this religious?

No. AA is spiritual, not religious.
Members define their own Higher Power. No doctrine, no forced beliefs. It is personal only to you and what works for your recovery.

Do you allow students?

Yes! We welcome students to our open meetings. We ask for listening participation only; stay after to talk and ask questions!

How do I get the meeting link?

It’s also called our “Group Conscience” because all decisions are made from the collective consciences of the group.
